Airwallex pricing is a tiered monthly plan (Explore, Grow or Accelerate) plus an FX markup above the interbank rate and fees by method, such as cards, SWIFT and subscription billing.
Airwallex lists India under its Singapore entity, so its Singapore list is the closest guide: 0.40% for majors such as USD and 0.60% for INR, so a USD to INR conversion falls between the two.
The 0.5% and 1% markups quoted for the US and UK lists do not apply to an India-registered business on our reading.
Confirm the list with Airwallex before you rely on it, since these rates were checked October 2026 and the schedule can change.
What one client invoice costs you depends mostly on the conversion markup and the route the rupees take to your Indian bank account, while the paperwork you get back matters too.
Airwallex pricing overview for Indian businesses
Airwallex pricing for an India-registered business, on the Singapore list, comes down to five points:
- Monthly plans - Explore is free, Grow costs SGD 79 and Accelerate starts at SGD 399, and the plan you pick does not change your conversion or payout fees.
- FX markup - Airwallex adds 0.40% above the interbank rate for major currencies and 0.60% for INR and others, so a USD to INR conversion falls in that range.
- Receiving and payouts - no Airwallex fee is listed for receiving USD, GBP or EUR, local payouts are free, and SWIFT payouts cost SGD 20 to SGD 35.
- Card and billing fees - card payments cost 3.30% or 3.60% plus SGD 0.50, and subscription billing costs 0.50% per successful transaction for newer customers.
- One invoice - converting a USD 10,000 client invoice costs about USD 40 to USD 60 on Airwallex, before any bank charges on the way in.
Airwallex plans and what each one costs per month
Airwallex sells three subscription plans on the Singapore list, and the entry one is free. If you only receive client payments, the plan barely changes your invoice cost, because conversion and payout fees are the same on all three.
| Plan | Monthly fee (Singapore list) | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| Explore plan | SGD 0, per business legal entity | Businesses that mainly receive, convert and pay out |
| Grow plan | SGD 79, per entity, one month free for eligible customers | Teams that need spend controls and approvals |
| Accelerate plan | From SGD 399, per organisation covering all group entities | Groups with several legal entities |
What each Airwallex plan includes and what you gain by upgrading
- Explore - Global Accounts in 20+ currencies, free local transfers to 120+ countries, 5 free spend users, 10 company cards, card acceptance and Xero or QuickBooks sync.
- What Explore lacks - multi-step approvals, bill and expense automation, purchase orders, remittance advice for bills and HRIS integrations.
- Grow adds - up to 50 free company cards, multi-conditional approvals, rules-based automation for bills and expenses, purchase orders, remittance advice for bills and HRIS integrations.
- Accelerate adds - unlimited company cards, several legal entities in one organisation, single sign-on, NetSuite and Microsoft Dynamics sync, a dedicated account manager and onboarding support.
- What no plan changes - the 0.40% to 0.60% FX markup, SWIFT payout fees and card fees, so an exporter that only collects client payments gains little from upgrading.
Airwallex transaction fees for receiving, converting and paying out money
Airwallex fees follow a client payment through three steps, receive, convert and pay out, and each step has its own fee line on the Singapore list:
| Step | Fee | Singapore figure |
|---|---|---|
| Receive | USD, GBP or EUR into a Global Account | 0% |
| Convert | FX markup above the interbank rate | 0.40% or 0.60% |
| Pay out | SWIFT payout | SGD 20 (SHA) or SGD 35 (OUR) |
| Pay out | Local payout, including INR | SGD 0 |
| Cards | Card acceptance | 3.30% or 3.60% plus SGD 0.50 |
Airwallex Global Account receiving fees for USD, GBP and EUR
A Global Account is the set of foreign currency account details your clients pay into:
- Opening - SGD 0 to open the account.
- Incoming payments - 0.60% only for KRW, VND, BRL and MYR, and 0% for other currencies.
- INR - not listed as a Global Account currency, so expect every invoice to be converted.
Airwallex FX fees of 0.40% for major currencies and 0.60% for INR
Airwallex FX fees are a markup above the interbank rate, the rate banks use between themselves:
- 0.40% markup - AUD, USD, HKD, CNY, JPY, EUR, GBP, CAD, CHF, NZD and SGD.
- 0.60% markup - INR, MYR, IDR, KRW, PHP, THB, VND and all other currencies, including AED.
- Which row applies - the schedule does not say whether a USD to INR conversion uses 0.40% or 0.60%, so treat it as a range.
Airwallex transfer fees for SWIFT payouts and local INR payouts
Airwallex transfer fees are zero on a local transfer and a flat fee on SWIFT:
- Via SWIFT, shared charges (SHA) - SGD 20 per payout, arriving in 0 to 3 business days.
- Via SWIFT, you pay all charges (OUR) - SGD 35 per payout, on the same timing.
- Via local INR transfer - SGD 0, sent over NEFT, IMPS, RTGS or iACH, in 0 to 2 business days.
Our guide to SWIFT wire transfers explains why each bank in that chain adds a cost.
Airwallex card fees for taking client payments by card
Card acceptance lets a client pay your invoice by card:
- Domestic cards - 3.30% per payment.
- International cards - 3.60% per payment.
- Gateway fee - SGD 0.50 on every attempted payment.
- Extra fee - 2.00% if the card payment is converted, or 1.00% if it settles in the foreign currency; only one applies.
If you bill by bank transfer, these Airwallex fees for cards will not apply to you.
Hidden Airwallex costs Indian exporters should check
Some Airwallex costs sit outside the headline price list:
- Auto conversion fee - 1.00% on conversions Airwallex makes for you, and the schedule does not explain what triggers it.
- Own-account INR payout - Airwallex pays INR over NEFT, IMPS, RTGS and iACH in 0 to 2 business days, but confirm it can pay into your own account, since your bank matches each receipt to the export invoice on EDPMS (EDPMS and IDPMS).
- FIRC fee - Airwallex offers a Foreign Inward Remittance Certificate (FIRC) on request, and its Indian banking partner may charge for it, unlike an automatic FIRA certificate from an AD Category I bank (Authorised Dealer bank); see FIRC vs FIRA.
- Sender bank deductions - your client's bank and any intermediary bank can take a SWIFT charge, so a USD 5,000 invoice can land short; asking the client to pay all charges (OUR) usually reduces it.
- Other paperwork - the purpose code for inward remittance and the electronic Bank Realisation Certificate (eBRC) stay the same whichever provider you use.
Ask Airwallex before you move volume
- Fee schedule - which entity and price list apply to your India-registered business.
- Own-account payout - whether you can pay out INR to your own account, and at 0.40% or 0.60%.
- Export proof - whether you get an FIRA or eFIRA, or only an FIRC, and what it costs.
Airwallex fee types explained and what each charge pays for
Each Airwallex charge pays for a different step, and only some of them touch a client invoice:
| Fee type | What it pays for | When charged |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription | Plan features, users and cards | Monthly |
| FX markup | Converting one currency to another | Each conversion |
| SWIFT payout | Sending money through the SWIFT network | Each SWIFT payout |
| Local payout | Sending money over a domestic bank network | Each local payout |
| Card processing | Accepting a client payment by card | Each card payment |
| Auto conversion | A conversion Airwallex makes for you | Trigger not explained |
| FIRC | Proof of an inward payment from the banking partner | On request, fee set by the banking partner |
For an exporter who only receives and converts, the FX markup is the line that matters most, since receiving and local payout cost nothing on the schedule.
Example of what one client invoice costs on Airwallex and Xflow
On published fees only, one invoice costs USD 4 to USD 150 on Airwallex across these sizes (Explore, 0.40% to 0.60%, before payout fees):
- Smaller invoices - Airwallex costs less at USD 1,000 and the same or less at USD 2,500.
- From USD 5,000 - the Growth column matches the 0.40% end of the Airwallex range and sits below its 0.60% end.
- AED invoices - these sit at the 0.60% end on Airwallex.
Example costs of a USD invoice from USD 1,000 to USD 25,000
In this example, an Indian IT services company bills a US client in USD and converts the payment to INR:
| Invoice | Airwallex (Explore, 0.40% to 0.60%) | Xflow Starter | Xflow Growth |
|---|---|---|---|
| USD 1,000 | USD 4 to USD 6 | USD 12 | USD 20 |
| USD 2,500 | USD 10 to USD 15 | USD 15 | USD 20 |
| USD 5,000 | USD 20 to USD 30 | USD 30 | USD 20 |
| USD 10,000 | USD 40 to USD 60 | USD 60 | USD 40 |
| USD 25,000 | USD 100 to USD 150 | USD 150 | USD 100 |
Who Airwallex pricing is worth it for and who should skip it
Airwallex rates sit close to Xflow Growth from USD 5,000, so whether Airwallex pricing is worth it depends on what you need beyond conversion:
- An agency or IT services company that spends abroad - Airwallex suits you if you also pay overseas suppliers, hold foreign currency and use company cards, since the Global Account does more than receive.
- An exporter who mainly receives client payments - an India-first account such as Xflow fits better, with INR in your own bank account the next business day and a free eFIRA on every withdrawal, while the markup is close on both sides from USD 5,000.
- A GST-registered proprietorship or MSME - you can apply with a GST certificate plus a second document, or Udyam and GST certificates for an MSME, subject to Airwallex checks.
- A freelancer with no registered business - Airwallex is for businesses only, so you need a receiving account that takes individuals, such as Xflow, where you sign up with PAN and address proof.
- A business that wants to take card payments - confirm eligibility first, and ask Airwallex whether an India-registered merchant can accept cards.

Choosing a plan by invoice size as an Indian exporter
If Airwallex is not the right fit, plans priced by invoice size are the next thing to compare. On Xflow pricing, each plan maps to an invoice size, with no receiving or monthly fee listed:
- Starter, invoices usually under USD 3,500 - a flat USD 12 up to USD 2,000, then a 0.6% FX markup on the mid-market rate.
- Growth, invoices of USD 2,000 to USD 10,000 - a flat USD 20 up to USD 5,000, then a 0.4% FX markup.
- Scale, invoices from USD 10,000 - custom pricing set by our team.
- Payout - INR in your Indian bank account the next business day, before 12:00 PM.
- Export proof - a free eFIRA on every withdrawal, generated by the bank within 24 hours.
We hold a final (fully approved) Payment Aggregator Cross Border (PA-CB) authorisation from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), as of Feb 2026.

Airwallex is available to India-registered businesses, and Airwallex lists India under Airwallex (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. It publishes no separate Airwallex pricing for India, and INR is not listed as a Global Account currency.
Approval depends on its checks of your company documents.
Airwallex lists no fee for receiving USD, GBP or EUR into a Global Account.
Opening a Global Account costs SGD 0. Airwallex charges 0.60% for KRW, VND, BRL and MYR. Your client's bank or an intermediary bank can still deduct charges on a SWIFT payment before it arrives.
Airwallex is not always cheaper than Wise; it depends on the currency route and invoice size, so compare a live quote from Wise, Skydo or any other provider.
Airwallex charges 0.40% to 0.60% over the interbank rate, or USD 40 to USD 60 on USD 10,000. Our Wise review covers Wise fees.
For Indian exporters, the INR route and export proof matter as much as the fee. Xflow pays INR the next business day with a free eFIRA, while Airwallex offers an FIRC on request. Our Payoneer review covers the Payoneer side.
Airwallex and Stripe price different things. Stripe is a card payment gateway, so compare Airwallex card fees of 3.30% to 3.60% with Stripe transaction fees, not with Airwallex bank transfer costs. Card payments also carry SGD 0.50 per attempt.
Airwallex is for registered businesses only, so personal use is not allowed.
It is not a bank either; it works with banking partners, and a registered proprietorship can still apply as a business with a GST certificate plus a second document.
