IBAN Rules in Jordan

IBAN is mandatory in Jordan for every domestic and cross-border bank transfer, in force since the Central Bank of Jordan mandated it in February 2014.

The 30-character Jordanian IBAN begins with JO, two check digits, a 4-character bank code, a 4-digit branch code, and an 18-digit account number.

Legacy account numbers exist inside banks but IBAN is the required format for every interbank movement.
